Eustachian Tube Dysfunction

Eustachian Tubes protect your middle ear from issues that can affect your hearing.  The most common issue with eustachian tube dysfunction is when the eustachian tube swells.  this can happen when you have allergies, colds, ear tumors, Sinusitis or GERD.

How Do You know if you have Eustachian Tube Dysfunction

How to Unclog Eustachian Tubes

  1. Chew gum.
  2. Yawn.
  3. Swallow.
  4. Try the Valsalva maneuver (breathing out forcefully while closing your mouth and pinching your nostrils).
  5. Use a saline spray to clear out nasal passages.

How do you get eustachian tubes to drain

Try a simple exercise to help open blocked tubes. Close your mouth, hold your nose, and gently blow as if you are blowing your nose. Yawning and chewing gum also may help. You may hear or feel a “pop” when the tubes open.
