Dr. Kerner is the director of the Northridge Hospital Head and Neck Cancer Center and director of the Head and Neck Tumor Board, a multispecialty group of physicians, social workers, and support staff who meet monthly to discuss the treatment of head and neck cancer patients. This Board includes Radiation Oncologists, Medical Oncologists, Dental specialists, Radiologists, and Pathologists.
We specialize in organ preservation of the larynx—this entails providing the highest level of medical and surgical care to save the voice and swallowing functions for people with throat and oropharyngeal cancers. Dr. Pleet authored an article and pioneered a technique for laryngeal preservation surgery called the imbrications laryngectomy which is a voice-sparing operation for laryngeal cancer. Drs.
